This is a beautiful area of NM... we love it here. The weather is fantastic and due to all the pine trees, it smells so good! We took a nice drive up to the Apache Ski Resort. Its about 12 miles north of the village of Ruidoso. We have never taken our jeep up such a steep road and we were concerned, but she made it just fine! We are still dreaming of our 4x4 truck and fifth wheel camper but today we are good with the jeep and the provided housing! Once we got up to the top of the mountain there was a nice lookout area!
